So I was reading in The Boston Hearld about his guy who has a Sunoco Gas Station in Cambridge that the company wants to shut down.  If you have not read the story yet, click here and read it.  I am a bit lost on what to think about this.

What I don’t get is that he owns a Sunoco Gas Station and does not sell gas, nor has he for awhile.  So, why the fuss?  I don’t even think he is open for someone to buy a bottle of water so why not just call it a day and move on?  I can’t imagine he is making much money living inside of his store with nothing to offer anyone.

And Sunoco seems to be trying to flush him out by boarding up his garage AND then wrapping his building in plastic!  What is that about??  That sounds like an old High School prank!  I can see how that went down in my head.  3 or 4 guys showing up with a hugh roll of plastic just walking around and around his building laughing .

And what if this guy had an emergency and needed to get out?  Wouldn’t these guys be responsible for like trapping him in a building with no way out?  I don’t know…the whole thing just sounds silly.  It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George pretended to be handicapped and his boss found out he wasn’t and was trying to shut him out of his office and make him quit.  That was a great episode!

I am all for the guy fighting for his business, but it seems that he doesn’t have one to fight for.  And Sunoco kind of sounds like a big y here.  I wonder who will win this one?

I am going to try and get the guy on the phone today and see what he has to say about this.  I will post it if I can get him to talk to me.

I am getting really upset with TV lately.  1st, for what seems like the past 847,362 weeks the Olympics has been on every single channel NBC owns NON STOP!  I watch alot of TV at night and one of my favorite shows is Law & Order which is on NBC and USA (among other networks as well).  I also like other shows that are on and I have been left out in the cold without them so I can be given the chance to watch power weight lifting and other such events that I could care less about.

Now, I am not saying that I think the Olympics are dumb or that I do not appriciate what the athletes do, I’m just saying that it would be a great idea to just add 2 channels to cable that are Olympics non stop that way people can get their fix of people running fast around a track and I can play crime solver and help Stabler and Benson solve a crime!  That’s all!

I was glad it is finally over so I can go back to my normal schedule….UNTIL……THE DNC!

NOW, that silliness is on even MORE channels!  WHY does every channel feel the need to put the same thing on??  It is worse then when the President does one of those useless speaches that take up every network and CNN!  I could care less about this DNC thing.  As a matter of fact, DNC stands for DO NOT CARE!  Put the darn thing on the 24 hour Deep Sea Fishing Channel or something like that and give America back their shows!

I had the chance to watch some clips this morning on the FOZ 25 news and I was so glad I was at work late last night setting up my fantasy football team because if I was home and had to flip through 345 channels of seeing/hearing Hillary Clinton talk in that slow paced, mono toned voice I would have probably smashed my TV to make her stop talking and then drink every bottle of Bud Light Lime I had until I passed out to avoid causing further harm to my precious electronics.

And it isn’t that I do not like her, I just do not like being forced to watch this horrible programming.  Pubic Access TV with meetings about what towns want to make their official town pie is way more interesting then the DNC!  And to top it off, the Republicans have the same crap coming up!  For the love of god, just make it a web stream!  I can’t even watch Unwrapped due to this!

When I did get home last night, every show was like running late.  They were ending at like 11:18.  I was so mad I watched some movie in Spanish and I don’t even speak Spanish!  I was just appriciative that they had the guts to not run the DNC and stick with their original programming.

Sorry to rant.  I don’t think I am even going to vote now.  I could care less which one of these clowns win.  All I hear is the Charlie Brown teacher voice when they talk (blah blah blah blah blah).  I know there will be many of you who say “You need to vote and you can’t comnplain if you don’t vote” etc.  Listen, I have voted for things I care about…I recently won an election in my town, so I understand how it works.  BUT, why vote if I do not like ANY of them?  That is my vote…by not voting.

Someday I will run for President and will never run a negative commercial, never say anything bad about the other opponent, never make up a ton of lies and then back peddle on them etc.  I will just tell you what I want to do, surround myself with good people and have a blast going around the country listening and talking to people.  If you have even seen the movie “Man of the Year” with Robin Williams, you will get it.  Give me someone like that, and I will love to vote.  I am tired of politics as usual and the taking up of all of my tv time.

Richard Pryor was on to something when he said “Vote for none of the above”.  Now with that said, I am over tired, cranky and need to find a chicken sandwich to brighten up my day before I start to blog about the welfare system and how fried chicken gets a bad rap.

Okay…1st read this and then I will make a comment.  I am pasting this from the Union Leader of New Hampshire:

What kind of burglar would leave a mug shot of himself behind at the scene of the crime?  Hollis Police aren’t sure, either.

But for now, police are looking for a Polaroid bandit whose face was clearly captured by an instant photo and left on a family’s mantle last week.  Whoever he is, he’s now the prime suspect in the break-in on Rideout Road.  Even more puzzling is that this burglar travels with his own crime scene photographer — based on the angle of his body and the distance from the camera, it appears someone else took the shot, police said.

Hollis Police Sgt. Richard Mello said the homeowners were away last week on vacation, so the date of the burglary is not known. But when the homeowners returned Sunday at about 10 p.m. they noticed a screen had been peeled from the window.  Next thing they noticed was a photo of a smirking stranger, seated in one of their living room arm chairs, left on the mantle.  So far, police said, it looks like nothing was taken from the home.

Police would not speculate on whether leaving the photo was the motive behind the burglary.”

So let me get this right.  This idiot breaks into a house and is so dumb that he takes a picture of himself and then either leaves it behind on purpose OR was so dumb he forgot it there!  Either way, I am laughing my rear end of at this clown!  I cannot wait until they catch him and them I am so going to his hearing just to see if this guy is for real and laugh at him.

And, the best part is he didn’t even take anything!  He just broke in to leave his “Glamour Shot” behind?  Or was it that he needed a new picture for his myspace page and needed these people’s couch for it?  This has to be one of the dumbest “crimes” I have ever heard of and it happened in the next town from where I live.

I am going to drive around tonight and see if I can find him.  I really just want to laugh at him!  Maybe that is a bit childish of me seeing I am 32, but please….he broke into a house, did not take anything and left a picture of himself behind sitting on their couch!  I hope he goes to jail for this just so the inmates laugh at him even more!  What a story!

Well, happy Monday to me.  I was off last week and while most people fill their vacations with trips to the Cape, Disney Land and other fun little things, I became one of those people who did really nothing but lounge around in my bed and act like I was un-employed.  I did manange to go to Canobie Lake Park and a trip to see some relatives in Maine, but other than that I really spent some quality time with Detective Brisco and the cast of Law & Order.  I never realized that show is on really 24 hours a day as long as you have every cable channel!

So to give you a few nuggets to help get you though the day, I will share some of my thoughts from last week.

1st…I HATE FLIES!  My son plays Pop Warner football and he has had practice everynight from 6-8:45 PM.  I think the field we practice on is a breeding ground for these things!  It doesn’t matter how much bug spray I have one, they just LOVE to frolic around me and bite me!  I was so tempted to buy a screen house and set it up everynight at practice but then you know what would happen…every parent would want to come into my sweet little fly free fortress and then I would have to make small talk and entertain, and then I would feel like I need to offer snacks and drinks to everyone so I can be a good host and before you know it we are all just drinking beer and making bad decisions.  So scrap the screen house idea…I just park super close to the field and sit in my car.  At least I can listen to the radio and keep the flies away!

I also went to Canobie Lake Park which I haven’t been to since I was in like 8th grade.  I had my kids and their friends with me and it was nice to let them have some fun on MY vacation as I stood by passing out the cash for their entertainment!  It was the same park I went to as a kid without many changes.  It was a fun day.  There was a group there called “Lyrix” who are the parks own boy band.  I thought my 6 year old and her posse would enjoy it so I arrive early enough to get a front row seat thinking I was the best dad ever.  Well, she wanted nothing to do with it and had this  super mad face on for the entire show!  I was thinking about just getting up and leaving so she could go back on the  Dragon Coaster, but when you are in the front row of a small seating area, it is very clear when you get up and leave and I didn’t want the group to think we were leaving because they were bad or something, so I made her stick it out.

The band wasn’t that bad, but I couldn’t help but think that they must feel silly up there.  I mean, they were probably in there 20’s, up on a stage in front of maybe 40 people singing New Kid on the Block songs and doing all of the dance moves.  I give them credit for being able to do it.  I would never want to be the boy band of a amusement park.  It really isn’t something that is going to land you a record deal or make you rich, so they truly do it for the love of entertaining and NKOTB.  They could actually sing pretty good, so it wasn’t a waste of time.  I’m just saying, it must be hard to be their age and sing Hangin’ Tough for 40 kids and their parents 4 times a day, 7 days a week for an entire summer!

I also spent some time getting my new facebook profile up to par.  I needed some friends so went on an expidition to find people I have not talked to in forever.  I managed to bulk up my list and talk to some people.  It is cool to see where everyone is and what they are doing.  It is funny to see some of the one’s who were always better than everyone else doing nothing with their lives and vice versa.  Some of the people who I would think would be in jail by now are doing very well for themselves which is good.  There are even a few girls Iwent to school with who were quiet and never had boyfriends looking better than most woman now and I kick myself for not realizing their potential!  I could’ve had some ugly girlfriend back in school that would look like a model now!  DAMN!  Oh well, I guess that may sound shallow.  Someday I will tell you about my high school days.  I was able to entertain myself and still pass classes.  It is still a mystery to many how I turned out the way I did.  Even my parents had me pegged for pumping gas I think. hahaha!

I had some sad news too.  An old friend from High School lost her mom.  She was a great lady and even though the years (like 15!) after we lost contact, I would think of her.  She was always so cool to be around and was always super nice to me.  I had many laughs with her and it was sad to hear she had passed away.  It seems like just yesterday I was hanging at her house teaching me how to stretch my back out, have fun with life and how to deal with her crazy daughter who was my best friend!  It makes you realize how short life is and how important it is to not lose contact with people you care about!  I was able to talk to her husband Russ who I also lost touch with (I don’t think they ever did get married, but they were together for ever so I will call him that) and that was nice.  He was always able to keep things in perspective with a great sense of humor.  He NEEDED it living in that house with 3 women! hahaha!  They are just awesome people and I was sad to hear about it.  You ROCK Judy and I’m sorry we lost touch!  You will be missed by many!

Sorry for bringing it down a bit.  So here I am back at work.  It is around 10:30 AM while I am typing this and I am already looking at the couch in my office and thinking about taking a snooze.  It is tiring to be back at work.  Everyone keeps coming by to see how my week is and by the time I tell them about all of the things I didn’t do, I am exhausted.  I may go grab a diet coke and shut my door and have a “meeting” for the next hour or so.

I have a lot more to write about, but it will have to come later.   Typing is wearing me out!

Let me start off this little time waster with a “cut and paste” from today’s Boston Herald so you know what I am talking about:

An industrious Lowell hooker allegedly ripped off $62,000 in cash from a drunken john who was flush with piles of money from credit card advances and looking for love.

Jessica Garcia, 30, of Lowell allegedly was to be paid $30 to perform oral sex on the man, but once she saw he was carrying a duffel bag loaded with cash she pounced, police say.

Garcia wrapped a belt around the tipsy man’s legs while inside a Lowell apartment building Saturday night, shoved him down and grabbed the bag of money, said Lowell Police Capt. Deborah Friedl.

Garcia was to be arraigned in Lowell District Court today on a charge of unarmed robbery.

Police say the unsuspecting john had been drinking cognac for several hours when he hopped on his bicycle, duffel bag in tow, looking for a prostitute at about 8 p.m. Saturday, Friedl said. The man had withdrawn the cash from six different credit cards, although it’s unclear why, Friedl said. He took the bag of money with him for safe-keeping, she said.

Garcia allegedly solicited the cash-flushed man in front of 143 Westford St., and he followed her into the building’s basement. The man had agreed to pay Garcia $30 for oral sex, Friedl said.

The man told police he was struck on the head and does not remember the robbery. After waking up, he went to a Lowell police station and reported the crime.

Police found Garcia and another man in the downtown Lowell Doubletree Hotel later that night with three stacks of bills totaling $44,521.

Garcia told police she tied a belt around the man’s ankles and pushed him on the floor before taking off with the money.

Friedl said it’s unclear what happened to the rest of the money.

I am not sure why this story made me laugh so much, but it did.  1st, I cannot imagine that someone would take $62,000 off their credit cards as a cash advance!  WHAT could you possibly be doing that for?  I don’t know about you, but my credit card company gets a nice little penny for those kind of transactions!  2nd, no disrespect to the working girls of Lowell, but I can’t imagine that this guy was getting anything the came close to looking like Pam Anderson for $30!

Also, if this guy was in that much need of a “female friend” and had $62,000, I would think a trip to the Bunny Ranch in Las Vegas would be a much better time than some basement in Lowell.

The best part of the story I think is that the “lady of the night” made off with all of his money!  How silly this guy must have looked having to go to the Police Station and explain how he was “robbed”.  1st, he has to admit to breaking the law by paying her, and then he has to admit she made off with his loot! hahahahahahha!  LOSER!

And to top it off, she didn’t get that far.  She checks into a hotel using the cash she stole and the police were able to track her down.  So in the end, he didn’t get anything except for most of his money back!  I can’t wait to read how this one shakes out and where the other 20 grand went!

I also can’t wait to hear why the guy was taking $62,000 off his credit cards.  I have a feeling he was up to no good with that anyway.  Some people are just nuts, and this story is a great example.

I know that sounds odd because I am a guy, and as far as I know that can only happen in the movie “Junior” (Danny DeVito and Arnold Swarzenegger) but hear me out.

For the past 2 weeks, I have been CRAVING 2 things everyday.  The 1st being hambuger and onion pizza from C&S Pizza in Pepperell (if you have not been there yet, go and say Hi to Bill & Christina) and the 2nd is Chicken Egg Foo Young from China Express which is also in Pepperell.  If you do not know where Pepperell is, click here.

The Egg Foo Young is weird for me because I NEVER had it before until 2 weeks ago!  I went in there and asked the guy what was in it and it sounded good so I ordered it.  I am so odd with food that I never try anything new.  I am happy being plain with everything and my menu of things I do like is probably only 20 items deep.  For me to try anything new is just unheard of!  And, I LOVED IT!

Everynight for the past 2 weeks I have had either of these two things!  That most likely is not good for my “slender” figure but it is so good and besides, people like me for my personality anyway, right?  I can always burn off the weight after I get this baby out of me anyway.

Oh, and I almost forgot 1 other thing.  I never eat breakfast in the morning.  Usually I am way to tired when I get up (from carrying this baby weight, I am sure) and just never eat breakfast.  BUT, for the past 2 weeks I have also been getting an egg and bacon sandwich (no cheese!) at Dunkin Donuts on my way in!  It is like I feel myself “needing” to get it!  I went from never eating breakfast to having this sandwich everyday!

So, something is wrong with me and all I can come up with is that I am pregnant.  I know it is hard to believe, but that is the only logical answer.  So, let the media circus begin.

In the meantime, just have my egg & bacon sandwiches, egg foo young and hamburger & onion pizza’s ready for me.  And some mouthwash!

So it happened.  Manny is now a Dodger.

I AM HAPPY!!!

I must have hit refresh a million times between 3:45 PM – 4:15 PM on a few sites to see if he was going to be traded or not.  Between all of the rumors going on, I really believed that he was going nowhere.  I would’ve really been upset if he was not traded because I do think that after everything he has said in the media for the past few days, it was time for him to go.

This is a guy who makes $20 million a year and yet every year he pretty much asks to be traded.  The Red Sox have gone out of their way to accomodate this guy in every regard, and he still acts like a spoiled brat.  If they were to keep him past the deadline, do you think he would play any harder?  Do you think he would take himself out of games with his “bad knee”?  Do you think he would attempt to run out infield hits? The answer is no.  He would get worse.

I can’t imagine that besides missing his bat, that his teamates are sad to see him go.  It appeared that he was a pain the the rear to them and was a big distraction.  I was reading a few online pieces about him, and there is so much that has happened behind closed doors that we as fans had no idea about.  It doesn’t sound like he had too many fans in the clubhouse.

I do think we gave up a lot in this deal.  Sending him to LA and paying his salary would’ve been the most I thought they would do.  To include Moss and Hansen seemed a little steep, but again, it was probably that or there was no deal and they would be stuck with him.  In the end, I am sure their hand was forced and had to do it.

I am glad he is gone.  I appriciate what he did to help us win our 2 Championships, but that is in the past.  Go show LA how great you can be.  There are 2 months left in the season and I am sure that knee will be acting up soon or you will need to take a day off during a crucial game.

Good luck to the team who signs you at the end of the year for that 4 year $100 million contract.  I have a feeling it will be the Yankee’s or Mets.  How great would it be for the Yankees to do it and then he gets “hurt” and can’t play at all!

I have a feeling Boston will be getting the last laugh on this one!
