I was reading in the Boston Herald about the girl from Reading who had “relations” with A-Rod while he was in Boston and found something odd about it.  I’m a guy and most would think I would automatically side with the guy.  But, in this case I feel bad for this girl and feel she is being treated unfairly by the readers with their comments about her.  I love the girls from the Inside Track and this is not in anyway directed at them.  They get paid to write the stories and they do a great job at that.  It is the people posting the comments I have an issue with.  People are entitled to their own opinions…but, I think people are going a bit far here.

When you read all of the comments that have been left by readers (click here to read them), about 98% of them call her every bad name there is and pretty much make her look like the worst person in the world.  What you don’t see, is anyone ripping into A-Rod for the most part. 

Isn’t it a bit ironic that the guy who WAS married at the time (still is I guess), approached her, invited her out, invited her up to his hotel room and then did the deed with her and then is not getting really any slack for this?  I mean, he is getting torn apart in the media about the divorce and the Madonna stuff, but even with that…everyone is calling Madonna the home wrecker and not really saying anything about him.

Now, I am not saying that this girl is innocent either…but, let’s just think about this for a minute.  A top MLB player who ladies  find attractive and rich comes up to you (you being a young 20 something year old) and wants to hang out with you, most likely you are going to say yes.  She didn’t approach him.  He was the married one with the kid on the way and was chasing her.  Her mistake was accepting and moving forward with it.  But please, 90% of the girls I know would do the same thing.  It would be like Pam Anderson …no wait…she has Hepatitis….ummm….that would be like Brittney Spears…no, that doesn’t work either..she has a few issues….ok…that would be like Eva Longoria (who is married) going up to a 20 year old guy and asking him to hang out and do the deed.  Do you think that guy cares if she is married?  HELL NO!  He is seeing a super hot girl who is buying the drinks and staying at a 5 star hotel and wants to hook up with HIM!

I have a friend who will remain nameless due to the fact that he is a popular figure in the city, who years ago was asked to “hook up” by a Playboy Playmate of the year.  This girl was all over him and was not taking no for an answer.  He was dating his girlfriend for a few years and felt like he shouldn’t go, BUT, was young and this was a Playmate of the Year we are talking about here.  So he left off the part about being in a relationship and went to her room and things happened.  Now, if that story came out, (well, I guess I did just put it out there) why do I have a feeling that the Playmate would be the “bad girl” because she came onto him and is in Playboy and that is just “how the girls are”.  After all, it should be her fault to check his references to make sure he was single.   Anyway, his girl found out and needless to say, is not his girl anymore.  The Playmate found out as well, and needless to say, she has not “hooked up” with him sense.  Thank god for memories, right?

Anyway…this girl from Reading made a mistake, but it is one that I feel most people would make in a second if the opportunity presented itself.  I put the blame on A-Rod here.  He started it.  He has money, fame, good looks and is a celebrity.  That does something to people.  And let’s not forget he has a track record of this!  There are other strippers out there who are coming forward with similar stories.  But, not once do we see people really getting on him about this….only on the girls.

She has moved on with her life and really didn’t pitch this to anyone.  The facts always seem to come out.  Now, her reputation is down the drain, she is getting ripped in the media, she is probably losing clients at work and will be dragged into court for what will be a fun time on the stand I’m sure. 

She will never live it down and he will continue to be a celebrity and have a ton of fans, make a ton of money and continue in his ways with the ladies.  We all make mistakes…but in this case, only Candace is paying for it.  Sure A-Rod is getting a divorce and will have to pay out some loot to his wife, but that was going to happen long before his wife found out about this girl. 

Looking back, I am sure she regrets it.  Looking back, I’m sure he doesn’t.  That is the difference.
