So it happened. Manny is now a Dodger.
I AM HAPPY!!!
I must have hit refresh a million times between 3:45 PM – 4:15 PM on a few sites to see if he was going to be traded or not. Between all of the rumors going on, I really believed that he was going nowhere. I would’ve really been upset if he was not traded because I do think that after everything he has said in the media for the past few days, it was time for him to go.
This is a guy who makes $20 million a year and yet every year he pretty much asks to be traded. The Red Sox have gone out of their way to accomodate this guy in every regard, and he still acts like a spoiled brat. If they were to keep him past the deadline, do you think he would play any harder? Do you think he would take himself out of games with his “bad knee”? Do you think he would attempt to run out infield hits? The answer is no. He would get worse.
I can’t imagine that besides missing his bat, that his teamates are sad to see him go. It appeared that he was a pain the the rear to them and was a big distraction. I was reading a few online pieces about him, and there is so much that has happened behind closed doors that we as fans had no idea about. It doesn’t sound like he had too many fans in the clubhouse.
I do think we gave up a lot in this deal. Sending him to LA and paying his salary would’ve been the most I thought they would do. To include Moss and Hansen seemed a little steep, but again, it was probably that or there was no deal and they would be stuck with him. In the end, I am sure their hand was forced and had to do it.
I am glad he is gone. I appriciate what he did to help us win our 2 Championships, but that is in the past. Go show LA how great you can be. There are 2 months left in the season and I am sure that knee will be acting up soon or you will need to take a day off during a crucial game.
Good luck to the team who signs you at the end of the year for that 4 year $100 million contract. I have a feeling it will be the Yankee’s or Mets. How great would it be for the Yankees to do it and then he gets “hurt” and can’t play at all!
I have a feeling Boston will be getting the last laugh on this one!
Good luck to LA! They will NEED it now that they have this tool on the team!

Hope that knee doesn’t keep you out of any important games out there. Remember, you are getting older and need to take more time off, especially if you want that $100,000,000 contract you are looking for!

Love the song you played on the radio about Manny. I hope he hears it and feels like an idiot. Keep up the good work!

Manny, don’t go away mad….Manny, just go away!
I am so tired of him and his crying! Give me $20 million a year and I will play water polo in the coldest part of Russia!
Do you know if we can download the Manny song? Everyone at the office loved it and we want to keep it to remember what an idiot he is!

Big Daddy I totally agree with you with this one believe it or not cause you really don’t make sense all the time when it comes to sports but I believe Manny will be a Yankee next year. Here is something to think about if Texiria doesn’t sign with Angels next year he is a oriole. If he does sign Vladmir is a Yankee. So think a Vlad, Manny and A Rod in the same lineup. C.C the pitcher and they might even go after K Rod. Where does leave the Sox no where next year.

what a shame this man is never happy with what he has. He just wants more and more the greed inside of him has taken his soul. I hope he comes to realize how much he was loved and how good he really had it in Boston. What a let down he has been to the Red sox and maybe someday he will apologize to his fans. He does need to grow up but at his age I doubt that will ever happen. Lata Manny
