So I was reading in The Boston Hearld about his guy who has a Sunoco Gas Station in Cambridge that the company wants to shut down.  If you have not read the story yet, click here and read it.  I am a bit lost on what to think about this.

What I don’t get is that he owns a Sunoco Gas Station and does not sell gas, nor has he for awhile.  So, why the fuss?  I don’t even think he is open for someone to buy a bottle of water so why not just call it a day and move on?  I can’t imagine he is making much money living inside of his store with nothing to offer anyone.

And Sunoco seems to be trying to flush him out by boarding up his garage AND then wrapping his building in plastic!  What is that about??  That sounds like an old High School prank!  I can see how that went down in my head.  3 or 4 guys showing up with a hugh roll of plastic just walking around and around his building laughing .

And what if this guy had an emergency and needed to get out?  Wouldn’t these guys be responsible for like trapping him in a building with no way out?  I don’t know…the whole thing just sounds silly.  It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George pretended to be handicapped and his boss found out he wasn’t and was trying to shut him out of his office and make him quit.  That was a great episode!

I am all for the guy fighting for his business, but it seems that he doesn’t have one to fight for.  And Sunoco kind of sounds like a big y here.  I wonder who will win this one?

I am going to try and get the guy on the phone today and see what he has to say about this.  I will post it if I can get him to talk to me.

  1. Something doesn’t sound right with this. I feel for the guy, but how is he making any money?

  2. They wrapped his place in plastic? That is funny! This can’t be real, is it?

  3. Happy Labor Day Mr. Funny Guy. What, no blog on your day off? I had to work still! I guess that is the joy of being a nurse.
