Ok, I know that I have been the biggest loser at keeping up with this page lately, but between watching my 401k tank, wasting time watching these silly debates on TV and dropping my laptop down a flight of stairs, it has been a hectic week!
I need to start of with a big congratulations to the North Middlesex Cowboys for getting their 1st win of the season last Sunday. My son Tyler plays for the team and there is nothing better than watching a bunch of kids play an awesome football game…..EXCEPT….getting my OWN try of Brownies after the game! There is this swell mom on the team who we will just call Mrs. Tucker. I need to tell you that she makes the BEST brownies in the world (sorry mom..you still make the best mac ‘n cheese) and ever since I was teased with them last season, I have not seen one since until Sunday!
I have the pleasure of announcing the games over the speakers and have singled her out for her lack of brownie production lately. I guess I finally quilted her enough where she made them for the team and was nice enough to ruin my diet and make me my own! They are just so amazing that I really wish she would just tell me how to make them myself so I can weed out the middle person (meaning her) and just make them myself! Of course, I would share the recipe with you as well. So thank you to Mrs. Tucker and Great Game NM Cowboys!!
I was reading the Fitchburg Sentinel today and noticed a big headline of “State of the art KFC Planned” and since I love chicken, that caught my attention. After reading it, I had to laugh because when I read “state of the art” I am thinking ok…when I walk in there will be like plasma TV’s everywhere, people giving me massages as I wait in line and I can pay for my meal by them scanning my eye or something. Well, I was wrong as the only thing I could find in the story about the “state of the art” promise was “The newly constructed building, in addition to being more spacious and aesthetically pleasing, will be sited in such a way to provide a more smooth flowing traffic pattern.”
Ummmmm I really could care less about that. That isn’t “state of the art” to me. That is what I see at every place I go. “Smooth flowing traffic patterns”? Are you serious? THAT is what I need to hold my breath for? WOW…I can’t wait for this! I am blocking off my calendar now for that re-grand opening!
I also went to an un-named fast food place last week to grab a quick breakfast sandwich. Now, there is where I really want you to tell me if I am crazy for being upset with what happened. They have a deal going where you get 2 breakfast sandwiches for $3. Each one has an egg, Canadian bacon, cheese and is on an English muffin. Now, as I have said many times, I am so picky and hate almost every type of food there is. I told the little helper at the counter that I wanted that combo, BUT, no cheese, give me the folded egg instead of the circle weird looking fried egg and I want regular bacon instead of the Canadian bacon. He looked at me like I had asked him to give me a Lexus or something! He said “Sorry sir, that is a different sandwich and I cannot do that” to which I replied “no it isn’t. It still has an egg, a type of bacon and just no cheese”. He didn’t get it and that really aggravated me.
I am so laid back (well, that depends on who you ask) but this made me keep asking him how it was different to which he could not tell me why. I am letting Mr. Corporate penny pincher register boy keep the cheese and just give me the sandwich with egg and bacon. I told him he could even keep the English muffin as I don’t want it. Again, I get the stare like if he does this, the manager will take his lunch money or something!
Let me break it down just one more time. Instead of the 1 round fried egg, I wanted the 1 folded egg. Egg for Egg. Instead of the round Canadian Bacon, I wanted regular bacon (which by the way, is 1 small strip ripped in half, so clearly they are giving me less than what they would have), I am letting them keep the cheese and the bread. By my math, I am giving them a deal! Yet this clown wants to charge me like $8.00 for it! Needless to say, I laughed and walked out.
Ok…I am done ranting for now. I know that all 2 of my stories revolved around some type of food, but I am on a diet and getting miserable. I am however, still losing weight and before you know it will look better than my cousin (read my earlier blogs and you will get the reference to him). I need to go get my laptop back and kill the rest of this day. I may just drive around for a half hour wasting gas talking on my cell phone now that I can get gas for $2.79/gallon!
It is about time there was something new up here besides those crazy interviews! Nothing beats reading about your personal issues to start my day…it makes me feel better about my stuff! j/k
That story about the egg thing is funny. Sometimes I really think these people are so unhappy at their job that they just don’t care. I had my sisters daughter with me one day and she wanted a regular combo meal but in a kids box and they would not do it! I had to buy the kids meal in addition to the regular meal just to make her happy. I just don’t see as good of customer service lately. And Canadian Bacon is gross!
Cant wait to see this magical brownie recipe! And that interview with Mike O’Malley was great! he is so funny!

Where have you been? Is that really your cousin? He is so hot! Does this mean once you get down to your goal you will look like him, minus the hair thing! I want to meet both of you!
And good luck with everything you are doing. I have been keeping up with your blog and think it is funny, interesting and odd at the same time! Where did you ever get the idea to turn soy sauce into gas?
And that girl from the Atlanta interview was flirting with you…watch out for her!
Keep up the good work! You make my day a little better by making me laugh!

Soy Sauce as gasoline is the craziest idea I have ever heard! You need medication!
But with that said, you are very entertaining! I would love to know what makes you tick!
P.S. You cousin is smokin’ hot! Is he single?

Who doesn’t love a good brownie? Where is the recipe? And I have never had to read so much about wanting to change and egg and bacon in my life. As odd as this sound, I agree with you and this kid was just dumb. People wonder why we don’t go back to their food places anymore…they hire idiots who don’t care!
And why would you want to waste gas just to drive around and talk on your phone? Well, unless you were trying to find that KFC!
Have a great weekend!
