According to the National Retail Federation, Americans will spend nearly $5.3 BILLION on roses this Valentine’s Day. But listen to this . . .
Even though 42% of men say they’re going to surprise their girl with roses on Valentine’s Day . . . less than 17% of women say roses are the gift they want most.
So what do women want more than roses?
22% prefer dinner at a romantic restaurant.
Another 22% prefer an intimate love note. (???)
And nearly 28% say the Valentine’s gift they want most . . . is jewelry.
So, guys, what can you take from this? There’s a decent chance your lady will let you off the hook on the cheap this Valentine’s Day . . . because how much can an “intimate love note” really cost? Five cents?
Unfortunately, it’s even more likely that, even in this crap economy, your lady won’t be satisfied unless you break the bank . . . and buy her something shiny and expensive. Aren’t you a lucky guy???
Ladies, what is it that you really want this Valentines Day? Was this poll accurate? Post your “wants” in the comment section below.
I believe that most women do appreciate flowers especially in front of co-workers. Its just too predictable and common on Valentine’s day. Send flowers/roses randomly. For valentine’s day this year I am going with Edible Arrangements. A chocolate covered strawberry arrangement delivered like flowers to my wife’s office. All of the girls in her office will have roses and this gift will make her feel special. Its not how much I spend on my wife that makes her happy its thought and creativity.

I would go with the dinner and a romantic note…I think it would be wrong to ask for something as big and expensive as jewelery for V day.
