Here is a link to my complete interview with Dr. Masterson: http://www2.937mikefm.com/listen/dr-lisa-masterson-doctors-cbs

Today I was talking with Dr. Lisa Masterson from “The Doctors” on CBS (airs at 2PM Weekdays on WHDH Ch. 7) and the topic came up about having the “birds and the bees” conversation with your kids.  She gave some great advice on how parents should handle that and then I filled her in on how my Dad told me.

Here is a clip with her advice on how to have the “birds and the bees” talk with your kids and my represed childhood memory of the day my Dad told me.  Click the “audio mp3″ icon below to listen to it.

So, I thought it may be funny to see how the fine readers of my blog found out from their parent(s).  Post a comment below and share your story and/or how you had the talk with your kids.  Maybe someone has some good advice, maybe someone can tell us what they did wrong.  Hopefully though, more people have funny or horrific stories of how they found out!  And you don’t have to use your real name so your little secret is safe!!  Post away below!!

We will be selecting 1 random person who leaves a comment to win a pair of tickets to see Creed August 3rd!

  2. Our older son decided to read the Bible from cover to cover when he was about nine years old. One night, my wife and I were relaxing after a typically hard day. Suddenly, our son appears at our doorway about half an hour after his bedtime. He says, “Mom? Dad? I’m reading in the book of Leviticus, and I keep coming across a phrase that I don’t understand. What are ‘sexual relations’?” There was a slight pause in the room, until my wife said, “Um, I think this is one for Daddy to answer!” I took my son into the kitchen (the only unoccupied room) and, while not describing the mechanisms, put in context as to who and when sexual relations are for.
